Hard Cover Reading copy only. H/b, 9" x 6", 302pp. The lives of the exiled Stuarts from the birth of the 'Old Pretender' in 1688 to the death of his youngest son. Colour frontis and a small number of black and white plates. Detailed appendices include an account of events by Flora MacDonald, letters, prayers, letters manifesto and speeches, detailed lists of the regiments and units of the Jacobite army in 1745 among other items. This an ex-library copy from Boots with their family datmp to the front cover inked through with a cross. Metal eyelet punched through to the top of the spine. Bumped. Sone slight sunning. The beginnings of splitting to the front internal hinge. Browning to endpapers which have the previous owner's name and some neat pen notes.
