Notes Volume I is significantly cracked on rear hinge though the internal joint remains sound. All other bindings are sound. Volume II has a faint water mark lower front board leather and slight loss of colour to the very lower edge of the marbled papers. Middlemarch has a couple of dark marks to leather corners but is really a very nice fine bound edition of this important title. Occasional scuff or scratch to corners on the other volume. Spines are bright and clean and in really very good condition, just one volume III/IV (Silas Marner and Scenes of Clerical Life in one volume) having a tiny area of surface loss near the labels. Corners a little rubbed with some areas of exposed board. Marbled papers are clean and only very occasionally lightly scuffed. More photographs available on request.

Eight titles in seven volumes, uniformly bound in half calf. Raised bands to spines with gilt panels and maroon and brown leather title labels. Illustrated to some volumes including title page vignettes. Marbled endpapers and marbled to closed page edges.
