Description

In limp faux-vellum folder with embossed image of a soldier to front and smaller embossed image to back. The folder is limp (ie no card stiffening) but substantial with a textured lining. Unpaginated. Facsimile collection of nine communiqués Including Raymond Poincaré's message to the chambers, The agenda for the Battle of the Marne, Joffre's message to the Alsatians, Pétain's agenda for the army of Verdun, etc. Many of the items are double sided and some have a transcription into printed French from the handwriting. There are small cream pieces of tape on some of the items, often to act as hinges to see the reverse, they look a bit incongruous but are part of the publisher's original mounting. An interesting souvenir of the French experience of WWI. Text in French.
