Photographic illustrations throughout showing pictures of The Red House, Roe Head, Oakwell Hall, The Rydings, etc that feature as inspiration for many of the houses in Charlotte Brontë’s works. Also included are photographed are a number of churches relevant to the works. Each photograph is accompanied by a paragraph explaining the ownership of the house, the connection to Charlotte’s life and the fictional counterpart. Interesting both fro the wide range of Brontë connections and as it captures these West Riding halls and churches at a particular moment in time.
