Description

Hardback. Navy leatherette apair in matching bindings with gilt decoration to front and spine. Blue ribbon book mark. The Woman in White has an introduction by the prolific crime writer E. R. C. Lorac (real name Edith Rivett but also wrote as Carol Carnac) who was extremely popular in the mid-twentieth century and has recently been re-published with great success by the British Library. This four and a half page essay by Lorac places Collins at the forefront of the development of the detective novel. the Moonstone has an equally interesting introduction by the biographer Malcom Elwin.
