Colour photographs throughout. a study of teh work of the York based architecture John Carr 1723-1807 whose work includes Buxton Crescent in Derbyshire and Harewood House in the West Riding of Yorkshire as well as Newark Town Hall, Lytham House, Oremesby Hall, the church of St PEter and St Leonard Horbury as well as hospitals, stables, racecourse stands and many other building. He was also bridgemaster for both the North and West Ridings of Yorkshire and the book features many photos of the bridges designed by John Carr.
