Notes Original red Morocco is in very good condition being sound to the hinges but has small patches of surface scuffing. Gilt is bright. Occasional mark. Papers the the boards are rubbed and scuffed with the board exposed to the very tips of the corners. Text is clean and crisp and appears little read.

Charles-François Dupuis 1742-1809 developed the Christ myth theory that was a fringe consideration as critical history developed during the Enlightenment. Dupois argued that the concept of Jesus was not a historical man but rather a development and amalgamation of myths ans religious ideas from many sources. Red leather to spine with patterned papers to boards. Spine has gilt ruled raised bands and gilt titles. Marbled endpapers.
