Notes Cream buckram is now rather tanned. Few small marks to dust jacket which has a chip to top edge. Scattering of faint toning marks to prelims and page margins but text is generally very clean. Binding is tight and square.

Hardback. 286pp. vi, 286pp. Signed limited edition, no. 162 of a limited edition of 1250 copies. Printed on Japon vellum with a loose cover also in Japon vellum printed in red with a design by Marion V. Dorn. Signed by George Moore under the dedication to Lady Cunard (Nancy Cunard) and facing a copper engraving by Stephen Gooden which reflects his description of Nancy Cunard. Marion Dorn is best known as a textile and carpet designed on the 1930s and 1940 whose work was very influential on taste at the time appearing in luxury London hotels and photographed for Vogue. Stephen Gooden was an engraver much associated with the Nonesuch Press and whose design of St George and the dragon on the bookplate for the Royal Library at Windsor Castle was used as the basis for the design of the reverse of the George Medal. Binding is cream buckram. Uncut edges.
