Hardback. With a preface by Jane Taylor. Full decorated leather binding. xx,172pp. Sarah Chisman, 1801-1814 was the daughter of John Chisman and Elizabeth. Elizabeth was widowed in 1802 and remarried 3 years later. This book, written very much from a Christian perspective, details the last three months of Sarah’s life. The Chisman and Whitty families were based in Dorset / Wiltshire. Of interest as a piece of early nineteenth century writing by a mother on her faith and on her bereavement. Full leather bands decorated in gilt to both boards and has gilt decorated compartments to spine. Lettered in gilt to spine. gilt to all edges. Jane Taylor (1783-1824),a poet and writer on religious subjects, was very a literary family and she is best known for writing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.
