Jigsaw is very clean and neat and looks hardly used. Box is square and tight but a little rubbed with some dust marking to the paste-down and some light marks to blue areas. Heavily faded to the box borders and edges only. |
Description
Wooden jigsaw in matching box both with the image based on an advertising postcard depicting a scene from the musical White Horse Inn by Ralph Benatzky and Robert Stolz staged at the London Coliseum in 1931. The musical was a huge and successful endeavour with a massive cast of over 150 and the scene shown shows a packed stage. Jigsaw is 95 by 140mm (3¾ by 5½ inches). Box is slightly larger 115 by 160mm (4½ by 6¼ inches). Colour image on wooden jigsaw is matched with a paste-down on the blue box. Interesting piece of theatre memorabilia.
