Notes Letters to a Friend 1950-1952 is bound in pink cloth with gilt titles to the spine. Dust jacket has some uneven faded and is rubbed to edges with a few faint scratches to the front. This dust jacket also has a tear and crease to the very top edge of the front and a closed tear to the back. Last Letters to a Friend 1952–1958 also bound in pink cloth with gilt titles to the spine has to the dust jacket an uneven chip with some creasing to the back, is slightly faded and has a few small areas of colour loss to the spine. It also has some slight loss to the dust jacket spine ends. Both bindings are clean and sound and the text is clean and crisp.

Hardback. 382+288pp. Letters to a Friend 1950-1952 is a second impression and Last Letters to a Friend 1952–1958 is a first edition. These letters are from the novelist Rose Macaulay to Father Hamilton Johnson, an Anglican priest. Edited by Constance Babington Smith who was a cousin of Rose Macaulay. Both volumes have a black and white frontis. Last Letters to a Friend 1952–1958 also has four further black and white plates.
