Description
Two paperback copes of poetry collections by Vernon Scannell both signed by Vernon Scannell. Includes a hand writtne letter by Scannell from his Otley address. Also two single sheet poems typed with love from Vernon and Alan hand-written to the tail. Edward Thomas postcard with printed Edward Thomas poem and illustration to front with hand-written note by Vernon Scannell to the reverse on the subject of Thomas’ work and signed Vernon S. to the tail, in stamped and addressed envelope. Also a letter from Alan (surname unknown, possibly the same as the one on the printed poems) discussing Scannell’s work and expressing anger at the BBC for the handling of Scannell’s work in a programme. This small collection of signed books and ephemera also comes with some photocopied reviews and an unsigned copy of The Loving Game in paperback. The items are address or inscribed to Anne Powell who ran Palladour Books in Ceredigion specialising on the poetry of World War One.
