Notes Rubbed to spine ends with a tiny amount of loss. Slightly rubbed to edges and more so to the corner tips and corner tips. External hinges rubbed but sound. Spine is very darkened though gilt is fairly bright. Inding is sound. Text is clean.

Though read much less now, Thomson was popular and influential in his day, inspiring writers such as Ann Radcliffe with his descriptions of landscape and atmosphere. Green leather with detailed gilt decorations to both boards and spine. Raise bands to spine. Gilt dentelles. Gilt to all edges. Ex libris label and further early gift inscription (dated 1821).
