Notes Some slight scuffing externally with minor marks to upper board and some white paint steaks to the lower board. Leather spine is in very good condition but the leather corners are more marked. Some uneven fading to cloth. Light foxing to prelims. Discrete gift note to front endpaper dated 1933. Text is clean. Binding is sound.

Hardback. xiii, 133pp. Half bound in blue leather with raised bands to spine and gilt title to spine. Blue cloth to boards and blue leather corners. top edge gilt. Large format: 320 by 245mm (12½ by 9¾ inches). Second edition with additional chapter on the paintings in the chapel which are discussed in the wider context of English art. Black and white frontis photograph and extensive further plates approx 95 photographs, mainly of the buildings and of portraits, and 12 further images of the ‘plate’ (silverware) owned by the college.
