Hardback. 344pp. Very pretty pictorial cloth binding in greens, red and gold. Emma Marshall, whose life coincided almost exactly with the reign of Queen Victoria, was a prolific writer for children. She was the mother of suffragist and dramatist Christabel Marshall. This volume has a painstakingly written decorative gift inscription, to Clara from Mother, Christmas 1903, which is carefully inscribed in red and black. black and whtie frontis by Arthur A. Dixon.
