Description

Hardback. Signed by Sir Henry Newbolt to the half-title page. Full morrocco binding by Bumpus. Raised bands to spine with gilt decorated compartments and gilt lettering. Marbled endpapers with with margin in leather, gilt ruled and with gilt trailing flower decorations to corners. Stamped as a Bumpus binding in gilt to the margin. Sir Henry Newbolt (1862–1938) is perhaps best known for "Vitaï Lampada" with tis refrain, "Play up! play up! and play the game!".
