Gilt titles to spine with gilt device to remaining compartments. Gitl decoration to both boards. Gilt dentelles. Stamped in gilt bound by Southran and Co. to margin of front board. Marbled endpapers. Gilt to all edges. First UK edition published the same year as the French original, L'ombrelle – le gant – le manchon, was published. Octave Uzanne was best known as a literary critic but he was also interested in the history of fashion.
