Hardback. 109pp. First edition. This is James Kirkup’s 5th collection. A prolific poet he was the first Gregory Poetry Fellow at Leeds University and as such he was first resident university poet in the UK. In 1977 Kirkup’s poem ‘The Love That Dares to Speak Its Name’ was published in Gay News and was the subject of Whitehouse v Lemon, the last successful prosecution under the Blasphemy laws in England.
