Notes Blue cloth has a few, very faint marks. Very slight hint of a curve to the front boards. Some foxing to top edge. Dust jacket is tanned to spine and has a suggestion of dust marks to paler areas. Not price clipped.

Hardback. 105pp. First edition. A prolific poet James Kirkup was the first Gregory Poetry Fellow at Leeds University and as such he was first resident university poet in the UK. In 1977 Kirkup’s poem ‘The Love That Dares to Speak Its Name’ was published in Gay News and was the subject of Whitehouse v Lemon, the last successful prosecution under the Blasphemy laws in England.
