Description
Hardback. Signed by George Meredith. Meredith (1828–1909) was a prominent poetry and novelist in the nineteenth century, perhaps best known for his collection Modern Love. Front endpaper recto of vol. 1 signed by the author, ‘By request, George Meredith’, vol.2 with ownership signatures including that of crime writer Julian Symons (1912-1994) dated 1940. Red cloth partially decorated in gilt and lettered in gilt. Many pages are unopened.
