Hardback. Mark Rutherford was the pseudonym of William Hale White. Novelist White was a dissenter and a friend of George Eliot among other writers. With a memorial Introduction by H. W. Massingham. Full leather binding with gilt titles to spine and a blind stamped Celtic decoration to spine. The front is stamped in green and red with decorative titles also in a Celtic design. xxxiv,139pp. gilt to top edge. Uncut to other edges.
