| Notes | Leather is a little rubbed and scuffed to spine edges, spine ends and tops of raised bands but remain sound to each volume. Some foxing mainly to prelims and margins. Plates are clean and generally free from foxing. Fold-out coloured map to The Bible in Spain has some foxing and some creasing but is complete. |

Hardback. Set of six volumes in maroon half-leather with marbles papers to boards and gilt rulings to edges of leather. Raised bands to spine with gilt titles and gilt ruled borders. Engravings and portraits to most volumes. Maps. Marbled endpapers. Gilt to top edge. With a Norfolk association (George Borrow being from Norfolk) as laid in is a letter dated 1926 from Constance Bacon of Raveningham Hall, Norwich, (Constance Bacon CBE née Constance Leslie-Melville, wife of Sir Nicholas Henry Bacon, 12th and 13th Bt.) to someone called Lettice.
