Hardback. 258pp. Biography of Charles Hamilton who under his pen name Frank Richards was responsible for many long running boys' public school stories including the creation of Greyfriars School stories featuring Billy Bunter and wrote particularly for The Magnet and The Gem (where Hamilton wrote as Martin Clifford. Richards was only one of many pen names and Charles Hamilton was probably the most prolific author for children. His range also encompasses Westerns, Marine adventures and romance. Black and white illustrations throughout and a small selection of black and white plates.
