Hardback. 127pp. Written by the 11 year Muriel Hodder and apparently suppressed by her family for nineteen years, this children’s story is a first edition with a six page preface by Edward Garnett and frontis and further black and white illustrations to chapter headings by Garnett’s daughter-in-law Ray Garnett [ Rachel Marshall]. Mottle pattern maroon cloth with gilt titles to spine and a gilt device with a horse to the front.
