Hardback. Signed copy with letter. Caroline Ticknor of the Boston publishing family (Ticknor and Fields) reminisces about authors met in both Boston and London. Small number of black and white plates. Inscribed to historian F. W. Tickner and with a letter to the same discussing family history. Caroline Ticknor also mentions reviews she has seen of Tickner’s work, presumably his most recent book of the time , Women in English Economic History which was published by Dent in 1923. the letter is on headed paper of The American Women’s Club in Grosvenor Street, London and Caroline Ticknor also writes her home address in Boston after her inscription to the endpaper. Writers discussed include Charles Dickens, Henry James, Anne Thackeray Ritchie and many others. Bound in maroon cloth with gilt repeating pattern.
