Hardback. Crown 4to, 10”x7”. Four volumes complete: x, 336; vii, 336; vii, 336; viii, 336pp. and all four volumes with a frontis and seven further portraits all with tissue guards. Bound in green cloth beautifully decorated in black and gilt to an Irish theme with Celtic knot work, Irish harps, shamrocks etc, as well decorative titles, all to fronts and spines; the rear boards are decorated in black to the green cloth. Bevelled edges to boards. Gilt to all edges. Each volume is illustrated. Volume four was edited by T. P. O'Connor. Covers Irish literature from Geoffrey Keating (1570-1650) to the late nineteenth century.
