| Notes | Brown cloth with printed black labels to front and spine and gilt titles to same is very clean and neat. Colour illustrated dust jacket is also very clean but slightly rubbed and rolled to edges a two inch closed tears to the front and another to the back which has been mended with archival tape (which does not yellow). Not price clipped. Contemporary gift inscription to endpapers. The matching box is a little softened to edges and somewhat rubbed and scuffed, and is faded to the sides, else clean, sound and square. |

Hardback. The Saturday Book was an annual cultural miscellany edited in its later years by John Hadfield (author of Love on a Branch Line). This edition being the 21st the themed articles cover 21 years of taste and fashion in articles on fashion with drawings by Philippe Jullian, travel, films, buildings, jazz, books, wine, as well as further articles on London Street Markets, the Social History of the Parrot etc and four articles reflecting on when they were 21 by Philip Gibbs, Harold Nicholson, Beverley Nicols and Louis MacNeice. Illustrations throughout. Colour illustrated dust jacket. In original matching box.
