Dodsley publishers, and the writer and MP Horace Walpole, the Rev Doctor Caryll, VC of the University of Cambridge, Voltaire and Benjamin Franklin. These discussions of paper, ink, moulds and type and lettering give an insight into both the brook and printing trades in the 19th century. The woodcut portrait is by E.
