Charles-François Dupuis 1742-1809 developed the Christ myth theory that was a fringe consideration as critical history developed during the Enlightenment. Dupois argued that the concept of Jesus was not a historical man but rather a development and amalgamation of myths ans religious ideas from many sources. Red leather to spine with patterned papers to boards. Spine has gilt ruled raised bands and gilt titles. Marbled endpapers.
